Are you planning on going away as a family in the next few months, but aren’t sure what to do? You’re in luck, we have come up with the perfect guide for you. Planning a family holiday can be tricky, especially when there are a lot of you and you have conflicting opinions – one person wants a city break, the other a beach break, whilst some of your family members may enjoy being active and want to do something different, like a walking holiday.
When you start researching family holidays, there are so many different types that you can choose, which deviate from the standard options, a lot of people choose (not that there are any problems with this). You could go down the line of adrenaline and book a ski holiday. Or you could try something new, like one of these Portugal walking holidays. Then there is the relaxing cruise holiday, which has recently grown in popularity.
To help inspire you and give you some suggestions, we have put together a brief guide on three different types of family breakaways.
Walking holiday
Walking holidays are great for families! They give you a chance to spend quality time together without the distraction of technology. They also allow you to see stunning landscapes and be active at the same time – it’s a win all around. You can book a walking holiday for as short or as long as you would like, and you can do one in pretty much every country, whether that’s a hike in Malta or a walking holiday in Spain. Once you’ve been on one for the first time, we are sure you’ll want to do another.
Watersports holiday
If your family loves the water and being active, then a watersport holiday could be the perfect option for you. Combining adventure, activity, and plenty of time outdoors, it’s a great way to keep both kids and adults entertained while making unforgettable memories. Plus, there are so many different types of watersports that you can do – you could scuba dive, kayak, wakeboard, snorkel, amongst many other things.
Ski holiday
Why not trade in the sun for snow, and try a ski holiday as a family? Ski trips offer a completely different type of adventure, combining exercise, excitement, and the chance to enjoy breathtaking mountain views. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced skier, there are options for all abilities – from gentle slopes for little ones to challenging runs for more confident skiers. You can also book a ski instructor when you are out there, helping get you on the slopes even quicker – we would always suggest this, as it’s a lot easier to learn with an expert than by simply doing it on your own.
